Nothing India has introduced new base variants for its latest smartphones. Nothing Phone 4a Nothing Phone 4b Nothing has introduced a new entry price point to its smartphone family in India by launching new base variants for its latest products, with both Nothing Phone 4a and Nothing Phone 4b now sporting 6GB RAM.
This announcement comes when the cost of smartphone parts (especially memory) has been helping to push up prices. Nothing has already re-priced a handful of smartphones this month. The new options now enable the company to move to lower entry prices without having to modify either phones’ display hardware.
Nothing Phone 4a 6GB RAM price in India
The new Nothing Phone 4a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option is priced at Rs 39,999 in India. This is not the first time the phone was available with 8GB RAM as the entry-level variant.
The Phone 4a family of devices is still available with more RAM. The 8GB RAM + 128GB model costs Rs 44,999, while 8GB + 256GB is Rs 49,999. The Phone 4a with 12GB + 256GB of memory is also available for Rs 50,999.
So it will be an extra choice for buyers who are after the Phone 4a but might not need 8GB RAM.
Nothing Phone 4b arrives with a new 6GB SKU
Nothing Phone 4b is also introduced in a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model for Rs 35,999.
The Phone 4b also still remains the Rs 39,999 8GB + 128GB model and the Rs 40,999 8GB + 256GB model. Which means that the 6GB version is now the lowest priced Phone 4b to ever be sold in India.
Both the new versions are now on sale in India via Flipkart, according to the report.
Nothing Phone 4a specifications
As for the main specs of Phone 4a, they are not changed either. We are getting the same 6.78″ foldable flexible AMOLED screen that offers up to 120Hz refresh rate and 4,500 nits peak brightness.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. According to the company, the device offers a 5,400mAh battery with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage capacity (depending on configuration).
For photography, it includes a 50MP main camera and a 50 MP telephoto lens along with an 8MP ultrawide sensor on the back. It also has a 32MP front-facing camera.
The device runs on Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.1, which delivers Nothing’s customised experience on the device.
Nothing Phone 4b specifications
The Phone 4b is a little different, with it being lower-end than the Phone 4a in hardware.
It has a 6.77-inch Samsung Super AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip and comes with a bigger 6,000mAh battery.
The camera configuration has a 50MP first rear camera device along with an 8MP 2nd sensor. The selfie shooter is actually 16MP.
Nothing Phone 4b gets the same glyph bar display from Nothing, in addition to Nothing OS 4.1, which is based on Android 16.
Why the new 6GB variants matter
By offering 6GB RAM versions, Nothing has another approach to attract budget-conscious buyers. The company has decided to keep the storage option the same and make the RAM smaller, unlike last year’s model.
This also serves to further differentiate the lower-end and higher-end configurations. Buyers who want more memory can still opt for the 8GB or 12GB SKU, but those who mainly want a more entry-level price now have another option.
At the same time, those set on comparing the new models with their launch prices, should understand that the pricing situation now is not as it used to be. The Phone 4a was launched at Rs 31,999 with 8GB + 128GB storage, and the Phone 4b with 8GB + 128GB storage was launched at Rs 34,999.
Bottom line
The Nothing Phone 4a begins at Rs 39,999, while the Nothing Phone 4b begins at Rs 35,999 for their new 6GB RAM + 128GB storage options.
The specs are more or less the same, so the new models are more of a pricing and spec bump than a refresh. Those of you looking to buy a Nothing phone in this segment now have an extra RAM level while keeping the storage at 128GB.
