Vietnam Becomes Luxury Wedding Hub for India’s Ultra-Rich | $5.1 Million Wedding
Vietnam is emerging as a luxury wedding destination for India’s ultra-rich, with a $5.1 million Nha Trang wedding set to host 1,400 guests.

A lavish Indian wedding in Nha Trang is rumoured to be in excess of 130 billion VND (around $5.1 million) with organisers claiming it to be the country’s biggest. Indian families belonging to business tycoon-status families are reportedly planning this spectacular affair which is expected to last for four days and combine traditional Indian ceremonies with entertainment, musical performances, receptions, food experiences and other resort activities.

The wedding will be attended by over 600 staff and a welcome ceremony will be arranged for guests at Cam Ranh International Airport. This grand ceremony is being organized jointly by an Indian wedding planning and management agency and a Turkey-based company called Blue Lemon Vietnam.

The Popularity of Indian Wedding Tourism in Vietnam

Why are India’s billionaire families choosing Vietnam for their destination weddings?

The growing appeal of Vietnam lies in its luxurious resorts, beautiful locations, warm hospitality, as well as the more affordable costs associated with destination weddings there. Locations such as Phu Quoc, Ha Long, Da Nang, and especially Nha Trang have the capacity to handle large-scale events, offering fantastic beaches, five-star hotels, and a rich cultural experience for guests, as well as access to nature like beaches, islands and mountains (in Da Nang and some parts of Nha Trang).

This isn’t entirely a new trend.

Indian billionaires had already booked an entire resort in Phu Quoc in December last year (2025) for a wedding with over 1,000 guests and since then many families have also started hosting events in places likeHa LongBay. Consequently, Vietnam is fast becoming more than just a destination for leisurely holidays and turning into a sought-after hub for high-net-worth Indian wedding tourism.

Benefits for Vietnam from Indian Destination Weddings Destination

Indian weddings go beyond the number of tourist arrivals for Vietnam. For instance, a major destination wedding brings expenditure across several tourism-related sectors, including hotels, resorts, catering, transportation, wedding planning and management companies, as well as decor, entertainment, and other activities.

According to Vietnamese tourism authorities, such events hold substantial economic value.

In just the first four months of last year (2026), the northern province of Quang Ninh hosted as many as six events with the families of some well-off Indians with hundreds of guests and millions of dollars in spending at these multifaceted Indian celebrations. Similarly, Da Nang saw about 50 such international wedding events including those from Indian tourists, in 2025.

Why the growing popularity of Indian tourists in Vietnam?

This increased interest from Indian billionaires isn’t just because of weddings – Vietnam is generally a much-favored tourism destination for Indians as per their tourism numbers which are expected to reach 340,000 arrivals in the first six months this year(2026), making them one of the leading international tourist segments. With Khanh Hoa (where Nha Trang is located) identifying India as a key market in its tourism strategy, many local, and even foreign (like Blue Lemon) wedding planners in Vietnam recognize the massive potential in targeting Indian high net-worth individuals.

The demand for such clients among vendors – from hotels to airlines to caterers – is exponentially higher due to the typically multi-function, extensive engagement format of the Indian wedding rituals.

NHA TRANG IS BEC0MING the next top destination wedding spot Nha Trang’s big wedding shows that it’s set to become the next biggest wedding destination for Indian wealthy families with its vast resort amenities, island retreats, and hospitality infrastructure for holding grandiose events.

By hosting this extravagant marriage that would costs$5.1 million, Vietnam appears to challenge traditional destination wedding hotspots preferred by rich Indians- such as, Rajasthan in India or even in places as far as the UAE, Europe and Thailand. This high-spending sector of destination weddings contributes to significant revenue streams, offering the high-income Indian luxury traveler much beyond just basic sightseeing or leisure holidays, which is the driving factor.

High net-worth India Wedding as a boon for Vietnam’s Luxury Tourism A high-net-worth Indian wedding in Vietnam has the potential to generate substantial returns to almost all parts of the value chain of Vietnam’s burgeoning luxury tourism sector. From hotels and their restaurant and bar outlets, to airports, and all local transportation operators – taxi services, bus rentals, even the use of boats for cruises or transport to the islands – to event planners, decorators, entertainers and tour guides – it creates large employment opportunities and boosts sales for everyone.

Vietnam is indeed carving a niche in high-end tourism targeted towards wealthy Indians.
